ABOUT SUNSCREEN

By Antin.  Many studies have proved that sun exposure is the most important factor for developing skin problems such as aging, acne, sun spot, and skin cancer. We can reduce the risk of those skin problems by using sunscreen.

Sunscreen has different forms and values. Most of skin experts recommend sunscreen that contains SPF (Sun Protection Factor) at least 15 to apply on skin regularly. Sunscreen can be applied with foundation or moisturizer products although it is recommended by experts that the sunscreen be applied on the skin before applying other skin products.

Sunscreens can be classified into two forms as follows:

1. Chemical Sunscreen. If we apply sunscreen on our skin, ultra violet rays of the sun still can reach the skin’s surface but prevent its entry. Chemical sunscreens are absorbed in the skin, so we need to apply it at least every 3-4 hours.

2. Barrier Sunscreen / Sun Block Sun block may contain titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or both. Barrier Sunscreen is not absorbed into skin and acts as barriers against the sun’s rays from touching the skin. We need to apply sun block just once which is enough for the whole day.

If you have sensitive type of skin especially to chemical skin product, you can use barrier sunscreen instead the chemical one to avoid any complications.
